For less than the cost of a pint, anyone can create their own digital currency.

MintMyToken provides a simple form for anyone to design and deploy a custom token on the Ethereum blockchain. Blockchain developer Broadhaven, believe that minting a personal digital coin for fun will encourage experimentation and open-up this technology to a wider audience.

Broadhaven Co-founder Tim Holmes-Mitra MBE said, "The use of cryptographic tokens has exploded over the last 18 months and there are countless potential applications. However, the predominant use to date has been in unregulated capital raises known as Initial Coin Offerings. We felt that there were more interesting and exciting ways to use this technology. So, we created MintMyToken to allow anyone to create a token for any reason – no matter how trivial or bizarre.'

While bleeding edge innovation has focused on blockchain's integration with artificial intelligence, 'internet of things' and machine learning, Broadhaven have taken a more domestic approach. As Tim explains, 'Wider adoption of blockchain is more likely to come from the improvement of familiar problems rather than solving esoteric challenges. A token as part of a rewards system or as a membership card are both simple and immediate ways of using MintMyToken.'
